Dr. Maggie Chen's research work in the past ten years has
been focused on optical true-time delay feeding networks for
phased-array antennas, system integration of phased-array antennas,
and broadband antenna design. In addition, she also did significant
work in planar waveguide devices, optoelectronic interconnects, and
diffractive optical elements. She has served as principal
investigator for 6 SBIR Phase I/II projects from National Science
Foundation (NSF), Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Commander, Space
and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Defense Advanced
Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and Office of Naval Research
(ONR). Dr. Chen received her Ph.D. degree of Electrical Engineering
in optoelectronic interconnects from the University of Texas at
Austin, Texas (2002). Dr. Chen has over 30 publications in refereed
journals and conferences, and two patents. She is a member of IEEE
and SPIE. Dr. Chen served the conference chair in the International
Conferences on ¡°Optoelectronic Devices and Integration¡± at Photonics
Asia 2004.
