Omega
Optics is a privately held company based in
Austin, Texas that develops and commercializes lightwave components
on planar waveguides that deliver broadband and high data rates
for global space communication or telecommunication systems.
Omega Optics,
Inc. was founded in 2001 to design and fabricate optical components
based on the planar integrated polymer and silicon waveguide technology. The
critical optical components such as optical switch, true-time-delay,
and backplane bus are under development with number of DoD,NSF,NASA,EPA SBIR
funded projects.
With its group
of talented scientists and engineers, Omega has been awarded eight
phase I SBIR contracts and five phase II contracts over the past
years. Omega provides administrative management and business development
support to individual principal investigator to develop innovative
products around its core technical strength including water polution sensors, multi-mode and single-mode DWDM, photonic
crystal waveguide devices, optical beam
steering, switching, and true time delay device for phased array
antenna steering. The effort in optical backplane of point-to-point
connection and even-fan-out bus structure has provided successful
bench demonstration.
